Title: ESG: A Construction Industry Perspective

Description:

Session Code: CR12

In this session we will explore the link between Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and the construction industry. With Investors applying pressure to owners, owners pressuring GCs, and subsequently GCs pressuring subs, the business imperative to consider ESG as a major part of your strategy is growing. From land development, building materials, building processes, PPE, people, waste and beyond ESG is becoming a major factor for contractors to continue to thrive. In this discussion we will cover the basics of what ESG is and talk about what it means for contractors.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basic concept of what ESG is and how to see them acronym through the lens of construction
  • Consider where the pressure for sustainability reporting may come from for your organization and when you can expect to see that pressure
  • Hear about what leaders in the industry are doing and what new innovations are changing the narrative
