Richard Hordern-Gibbings

Director of Partnerships at Propeller

A licensed drone pilot in both the US and Australia, Richard Hordern-Gibbings has a thorough and practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented to large organizations in the ever changing, fast-paced commercial drone industry. An early member of Propeller, the leading global drone-mapping and analytics solution headquartered in both Sydney and Denver, Richard helped drive the company to a global platform. He has changed the way the construction, mining, aggregates, civil contracting and waste management industries utilize drones to manage and measure their sites themselves. Prior to joining Propeller, Richard co-founded ed-tech Marketplace Nexus Notes, which services thousands of university students each year. His '’dog's breakfast'’ of a resume has seen Richard work in mining, law, marine services, banking, and even a brief stint on reality TV. Richard studied corporate finance and law at the University of Adelaide. When not chained to his laptop he enjoys keeping failed dreams of a professional sports career alive playing in the local Australia Football league.
