Ben Gerkin

Ben Gerkin is originally from Grafton, West Virginia, and currently lives in Palm Coast, Florida. He has worked in the lifting and hoisting industry since 2005 for various companies throughout North Carolina, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania. He holds a BA in elementary education from West Virginia Wesleyan College (2001).

There are many factors which need to be taken into account prior to engaging in load handling activities. In this session, Ben will cover the foundations of successful lift planning. He'll walk attendees through principles applying to load weight, center of gravity, rigging methods, and lift and set sequences. We encourage attendees to come prepared to interact, and be ready to work through real life lifting scenarios. The session will wrap with a group discussion and an unscripted Q&A session.
