Bill Dempsey PE

Bill has worked in the paving industry for 45 years. Starting on the paving crews while going to the University of Washington, Bill shoveled, raked, rolled and produced hot mix asphalt. After college, Bill started his full time career in the industry in quality control for Lakeside Industries of Issaquah, WA. 22 years of QC led to running the Seattle area paving business for Lakeside. Switching out of paving and into producing, Bill became the Production Manager and managed 16 asphalt plants and 6 mine sites. During his time as Production Manager, Bill was in charge of asphalt shingle recycling. It was in this role that Bill watched the failures of pavements with RAS. It was during this time that Bill and a business partner started working on a better process for making pavements with RAS. Bill formed a business with his partner (Asphaltica) and proceeded to obtain three patents in the asphalt shingle recycling industry.Today, Bill is working with Certainteed/Saint Gobain and is building out a business that will further the RAS introduction to Hot Mix Asphalt without compromising the integrity of asphalt pavements.
