Director of Diversity at Ironworkers International

Vicki O'Leary is an Ironworker out of Local #1 (Chicago). She began her career in 1985 as an apprentice and became a journeyman in 1988. Vicki is the Director of Diversity for the Ironworkers International. This role has been the most impactful. The ironworkers (under Vicki's leadership) were the first in the building trades to roll out paid maternity leave for eligible women ironworkers. She also won the ENR (Engineering News Record) AOE (Award of Excellence) in 2019 for her groundbreaking "Be that one guy" anti-harassment, bullying and intimidation campaign and training. She is chair of North America's Building Trades Unions (NABTU) Tradeswomen's Committee.
