Karthik Obla P.E., FACI

Vice-President, Technical Services at National Ready Mixed Concrete Association

Karthik Obla is Vice President, Technical Services at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA). With over 30 years of experience in concrete technology, he is responsible for NRMCA's concrete producer quality initiatives, research investigations at the laboratory, and oversees various educational programs and technical publications at NRMCA.
Karthik holds a Masters and a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Maryland. He has published a book on concrete quality, a chapter in a book on concrete sustainability, and has published over 100 technical papers.
Karthik is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and a winner of several ACI and ASTM awards. He is the recipient of the Richard D. Gaynor award from NRMCA.
Karthik is an active member of several ACI, ASTM, and TRB technical committees in the area of concrete durability, durability tests methods, mixture proportioning, quality control, supplementary cementitious materials, performance-based criteria, recycled materials.
